Welcome to the Karibu Edu Foundation
Sowing Opportunities for a Better Future

What is Karibu Edu Foundation?
We are a non-profit organization founded in the heart of Zanzibar, committed to providing access to quality education and promoting community development.

What we believe, what we create
We firmly believe that education is a fundamental tool to break the cycle of poverty, and that investing in community development and health creates an impact that reaches across society.
Our main focus is to empower local children, men, and women by providing support, resources, and educational programs that open up new opportunities for a better future.
We work hand in hand with the Zanzibar community, respecting its culture and values, with the vision of creating a positive and lasting impact.
We aim to create real and sustainable change in Zanzibar, building together a fairer, more equal future full of possibilities.
Who are we?

NURU MTEMA
PAOLA GONZÁLEZ

I founded Karibu Edu Foundation with the purpose of supporting the communities of Zanzibar, a beautiful island in Tanzania that, despite receiving thousands of tourists each year, is home to 2 million people living in extreme poverty. By living and working within this community, I witnessed firsthand the challenges in essential areas such as education, health, and the environment. That’s why I decided to transform individual support into a collective effort, giving life to a foundation that now reaches different parts of the world. With offices in Spain and Austria, our mission remains to improve the quality of life for the people of Zanzibar and beyond, through the power of collaboration.
After collaborating with various foundations, I discovered that my true calling is to contribute in my own way to improving the lives of those who need it most. Supporting Karibu Edu Foundation means helping to build a more equitable future—providing opportunities and resources that empower communities facing significant challenges, such as limited access to education and healthcare. It means putting empathy into action, understanding that the well-being of all is interconnected. As the coordinator of Karibu Edu Foundation, I work to connect resources and committed individuals who support the development of communities in Africa.
